About MyNeighborhoodMayor Mark Begich
Since the beginning of my term as mayor, one of my goals has been to improve citizen online access to city information and services. So I’m pleased to present to you MyNeighborhood.
MyNeighborhood is a first step toward my goal to provide a one-stop experience for citizens trying to get information online from local government.
Information from many city agencies has been pulled together and is organized by themes which include public safety, health and family, education, recreation, property, and local services. Specific information within each theme will include location and data about fire stations, police stations, schools, libraries, senior centers, and much more.
I know the importance of citizens to have easily accessible information available to them. An informed public can help foster a sense of community, insure clean and safe neighborhoods, promote public/private partnerships and empower citizens to participate in the local government policy-making.
I encourage you to use this website as often as possible since we intend to add new information to it on a continuing basis. Also, I invite your feedback on MyNeighborhood. This will let us know what information is most important to you.
MyNeighborhood uses state-of-the-art internet technology. With continued advances in this arena, city employees will have the tools to provide you even better online services and products in the future.
I hope you enjoy MyNeighborhood and let’s work together to make our community a better place to live.
Sincerely,
